Fund Care, Not Billionaires petition

To the current administration and members of Congress:

As frontline nurses, other health care workers, patients, and members of the public who count on our country’s federal public care resources to protect our health and safety, we demand:

A cease and desist on cuts to our vital public care programs—including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the right to join a union, safety on the job, minimum wage and overtime laws, pandemic preparedness, environmental protections, public funding for disease cures and treatments, and so much more.

Our public care programs save lives, ease poverty, lessen health disparities, and promote health. They were created in times of great suffering to ease hardship for all people in the United States

Any effort to disrupt, destroy, privatize, or profit off of our public care programs is an attack on our human rights to dignity and health. We will not allow the hostile takeover of our public health programs by billionaires and their corporate allies. Corporate profits must never trump our right to health.

Improving the health of our nation means strengthening, not dismantling, our public care resources and better addressing the social and structural determinants of health.

Our health is not for sale. Fund care, not billionaires.
