Urge Nevada law makers to Pass S.B. 182 with Amendments

Through intentional understaffing and cost cutting schemes, hospital industry executives have manufactured a staffing crisis in Nevada hospitals forcing health care workers to consistently care for more patients than is safe. Nurses know that safe staffing levels protect our patients’ right to safe patient care. 

Right now- we have a chance to improve staffing in Nevada hospitals. We’re urging Nevada lawmakers to pass S.B. 182 with amendments. The bill, with amendments, will also set staffing standards for other patient care classifications and give health care workers a stronger voice in staffing facilities. When this becomes Nevada law, S.B. 182 will shorten hospital stays, produce better patient outcomes, save facilities money, and bring RNs back to the bedside.
