The hospital industry has been doing everything in their power to cut labor costs to drive up profits, without consideration of patient care. Through intentional understaffing and cost cutting schemes, hospital industry executives have manufactured a staffing crisis in our hospitals forcing nurses to consistently care for more patients than is safe. Nurses know that safe nurse-to-patient ratios protect our patients’ right to safe patient care.
